Thanks Samantha! This has been an ongoing learning for me and I am excited to be speaking about it openly. I am convinced that if we can open up this conversation we can achieve much more for children in and out of adoptive families. Yes…totally agree re language.

We will all be able to move forward when we start understanding why people feel how they do, instead of simply judging those who feel differently from us! And engage people from that point. As an adoptive parent I think we need to be really reflective on what this means for us and our children. There are many things we need to be mindful about, one of which is language, let’s commit ourselves to learning and speaking more then just English, this is just one small step.
